What is the “Member Joined” date?
This date is used to trigger a welcome email which is automatically sent out to new members at 10am on the day after the date specified.
This is a little bit of a ‘fudge’ to achieve a certain behaviour so may seem a little convoluted.
Usually you would simply set this date to the current date and the email would get sent out the next day (at 10am).
If it is still pre-10am and you want the email sent out the same day, you could set Member Joined date to yesterday’s date and the email will be sent out at 10am.
If the date is set too early – e.g. the day before yesterday (even if this is technically the day they joined) – then no email will be sent out.
So you should set the date to the value that we ensure the email is sent out. The Treasurer’s record of joining dates is definitive – this field does not have to match perfectly.
